THE MCLEAN TRUST

Phedišang is part of The McLean Trust, a charitable trust founded in 1981. Over the last 25 years, the Trust has been instrumental, inter alia, in developing early edu-care in the Limpopo Province. Phedišang has leveraged off the strong local network and community relationships established by the Trust.

McLean Trust underwrites the Phedišang Project. This means that wherever donor funding has not been sourced, and there are children requiring support as part of Phedišang, that fee is covered by McLean Trust. In addition, the trust pays 100% of donor funding over to Phedišang on the ground in Limpopo, so that the money can be directly applied to relief - food and feeding and caring for the orphans. McLean Trust picks up all the admin and bank costs in getting the money to the project, as well as all the fundraising costs incurred.

So, where the number of children donor supported is less than the number cared for by Phedišang, the difference monthly is covered by the McLean Trust, except where the foster carers are paying the R100 per month Phedišang fee.
